Brake Services in Burlington, ON

There’s no denying the importance of well-working brakes on your vehicle. They are a critical component in the safety of you and your vehicle. Our technicians are trained to perform inspections on the braking system in your vehicle and are qualified to complete the work necessary to get you back up and running.

What is a brake service?

You might be wondering what it means to have your breaks serviced. What are the differences between a brake service and replacement? How is it performed? How often should a brake service be completed?

To answer your questions, a break service differs from a replacement because typically no components will actually be replaced. Servicing your breaks is a key way to ensure that they’re working properly between replacements.

During a routine brake service, the team at Adrena Garage will inspect the components of your braking system for signs of dirt and rust build-up which can cause stickiness or lead to seized brakes. They’ll clean and lubricate them as necessary and you’ll be sent on your way.

We recommend that you have your breaks serviced every 20,000 KM or 12 Months, or if they’re not working properly, grind, or make any odd noises.

What is a brake replacement?

A brake pad replacement is conducted to replace the material that causes friction when you press on the brake while driving. Every time you stop while driving it causes the components to wear on this material and it slowly degrades. After a certain amount of time, this component needs to be replaced. A replacement appointment will follow many of the same steps that your service appointment will; however, it will include additional work to swap the new and used parts.

If you’re not sure when your last brake replacement took place, keep an eye and an ear out for the following clues that it’s about time:

  • Abnormal noises while engaging the braking system
  • The car pulling to one side when braking
  • A feeling of vibration in your steering wheel
  • A brake pad warning light on your dashboard
